ADMISSION TO MBA PROGRAMME
BE – MBA – This course offers an opportunity to the student of Engineering and Technology of TIET to secure an MBA by pursuing the programme from third year onward. In effect from third year while continuing his studies in engineering discipline – he can in parallel pursue the MBA for 3years – resulting in his graduation in his respective technology discipline and simultaneous accretion of an MBA. For the dual degree the student will have to study 5years – though he, if he so desires, can discontinue his MBA after 4th year and yet secure his graduation in Engineering / Technology that he is pursuing currently. ELIGIBILITY – The student of Engineering & Technology of TIET who have completed their 2 years of study and have secured consistent high CGPA are eligible to apply for this programme. METHODS OF SELECTION – The students for this programme will be selected on the basis of their CGPA together with their performance in a written test / GD / viva voce to be conducted by the SBM. HOW TO APPLY – Application form together with the brochure is available with Asst. Registrar (Academic) TIET, Patiala. This can be had by paying Rs. 1000/- through a crossed DD in favour of Registrar, TIET, Patiala. LAST DATE OF APPLICATION – 31st March07. BE (IE) – MBA – This course offers an opportunity to further extend the capability of graduate Industrial Engineering through a wide exposure into the world of Management particularly the Manufacturing Management which is reckoned as an area of high Potential growth in the near future. This is a 5year integrated programme where the students do not have any option to leave the course in between. ELIGIBILITY – The students with 50% marks in 10+2 will be eligible for this programme. METHOD OF SELECTION – The student with a valid AIEEE score will be required to appear for counseling on the day. A separate application form as given in the brochure needs to be filled up by the candidate for opting for this course. His candidacy will not be accepted unless he exercises his option through the separate application HOW TO APPLY – Apart from applying to CBSE for AIEEE examination, the student needs to apply separately for this programme. To secure the application form cum brochure the student is advised to send a crossed DD for Rs.1000/- in favour of Registrar, TIET, Patiala to AR (Academic) TIET, Patiala with a self addressed envelope with stamp of Rs.45. MBA (IT – NET) – This course offers an opportunity to the Science / Engineering students to build on their capability in the sphere of IT and Computer Network Management – a high growth area of economic activities. This is a two year post graduate programme leading to the degree of MBA (IT – NET) ELIGIBILITY – Graduation in any branch of Engineering and Technology or MCA. Candidates with B. Sc / M. Sc will also be considered with a one-year bridge course specially designed by the school of Business Management. MCA graduates are eligible for MBA (IT-NET) only. METHOD OF SELECTION – Candidates appearing for any of the nationally recognized entrance test for Management Education like CAT, MAT, XAT, JMET etc. will be considered for admission through GD and Personal Interview. The candidates who did not take any test will be required to take a formal test to be offered by SBM at the School in Patiala on a date to be decided later. Candidates with work experience will be given due preference provided they show enough aptitude towards academic pursuit. HOW TO APPLY - The candidates can secure the application form cum Information brochure on payment of Rs.1000/- by a crossed DD in favour of Registrar, TIET, Patiala to AR (Academic) TIET, Patiala. MBA (MFG) – This course offers an opportunity to the candidates to be exposed to the world of Manufacturing and associated uncertainties in this field so that he gains a capability to convert environmental weakness into growth opportunities. This is a two year post graduate programme specially designed for Science / Engineering students. ELIGIBILITY – Graduation in any branch of Engineering / Technology. The candidates with B. Sc / M. Sc will be considered for admission through a bridge course specially designed by the school to enhance the students capability to cope up with the stringent demand of the course. METHOD OF SELECTION – As it is for MBA (IT – NET). HOW TO APPLY - As it is for MBA (IT – NET). Candidates to note the general pattern of the test proposed for: Creative verbal ability. Analytical reasoning. Quantitative aptitude. Data interpretation & data sufficiency. LAST DATE FOR APPLICATION – 05 April 07.
