CAT goes Online!!
It’s not an april fool joke but its true the IIMs have decided to go hi-tech. CAT 2009 be an on line test.
Here are few important changes that might happen.
1. CAT ‘ll be an online test like GMAT.
2. CAT ‘ll be held more than once in a year (most prob 15 times in a year)
3. Students ‘ll be allowed to take the test more than once in a year.
4. There is a good chance that the fee of the (like the IIM fees) exam ‘ll be increased.
5. There might be a fix time frame for each section.
6. Students ‘ll definitely get a score. .The concept of percentile should vanish.

Every thing changes with time and so should CAT. I don’t see any problem in CAT going online infact I would have been more happy to see the changes this year only @ CAT 08. Unfortunately that’s not going to happen so for us its going to be the same old pencil/paper CAT.
It’s a good move though few ppl have already shown their concerns about the security and logistic issues . The questions raised are quite genuine esp. if we consider the XAT 2002 debacle. But there is quite a difference between XAT and CAT. First XLRI never planned things properly and the decision of going online was taken just 4-6 months before the exam. XLRI was trying to conduct the test on a single day. .and XAT has hired a very small banglore based software comp (sry I don’t remember the name) for conducting the test only but on the other hand IIMs ‘ll definitely go with one of the top rated SW comp and ‘ll ask for developing (or heavy customization)a new sw which can handle CAT with out any crisis.
Wanna knw more crucial factors involved in ds Online CAT....Where we hav to put more stress....(e.g.:Regardin R.C. we hav to giv nswers without refferin back to d text like ds.....)

No I dont think that would be case. . .
The questions and passages should be
The purpose of CAT is not to test the memory. .
on the same page.
One thing that could happen is that there cld be a sectional cutoff time. .
Is there any official notification on this
