National game should be changed to CRICKET ??
I am against the above but that’s the nonsense few people are talking in media. .what you guys feel about it??
I really don’t find anything wrong in making Cricket as the national game. . It’s the only game which unites the whole country. Every Citizen of India feels proud of team Indias win and follows all the matches with lots of passions.
I really don’t find any logic behind Hockey Being the National Sports. Only because we had a great history in Hockey and few of our grand parents used to watch that game. No one in India seems to have any sort of interest in hockey. So what is the point in having such a game as national sports. .nevertheless I feel Cricket is the National Game and Hockey is just in paper.
Anyhow it’s a shame that India wont be playing hockey in Olympic for a 5th/6th position. . 
and I don’t understand why no one is having any issue with any player, it’s the players who should be held responsible for the current situation. Instead of complain how much cricketers are earning they should spend some more time on field.
And what‘ll you do after we start losing the matches in cricket. Don’t forget it was just only few months’ back we lost to a minnow like Bangladesh and came out of world cup in first round only.
So if we start losing matches in cricket then we‘ll change our national sports to something else. .
First know why Hockey is India’s National game and then give your useless comments

Hey think twice before writing such a nonsense. . Have u seen the conditions in which these players play hockey. .if hockey exists in India then it’s only because of few brave and highly motivated hockey players. .talent and proficiency in hockey is not an innate quality, it comes with experience and quality of hockey you play and for that you need at least some sort of basics infrastructure. .
Our hockey players only get chances to know how modern hockey is played only when they go out of the country. Forget about German and Holland, the kind of facility Pakistan players get are much better than Indians. .If you get a chance then go and see how players are playing hockey. .Only one school in Orissa has produced many great hockey players (including Dilip Tircky) and that school it shelf has no proper playing ground, no coach etc. . and that’s the story every where hockey is played through out the country.
Every parents want their son to be next sachin and then we complain we never get more than one medal in Olympic . . I think if any one is to be blamed for the dire state of hockey then its "WE" –Indians no one else. . next comes the media, government and cricket.

idian cricket is just a game for money and glamer....nothing else...
the player performing one day starts growing its wealth...day by day...but can't say it'll perform on next day or not..
and also on what means so peoples saying that to change the national game to cricket.????
till now what cricket have given.??
just a one world cup only...
where as on the other hand hackey have won the 8 olympic golds ...and many more silver and bronze.
so on what behalf do we change.???

indian cricket is not just a game...its passion.and if it becomes a national game, it won't change anything.its just the popularity of the game which decides its position..and we all aware of the position of our so called hockey team.so what if we won 8 consecutive golds in olympics..from last 20 years hockey became just like name game.and that just an excuse that players didn't get proper facilities and all...a player has to devoted to his game only.and if he got the talent he surely be get the succes also....so its just fine....nthing is gonna change if the national game is changed to cricket or something else..................

i am not agree with those people who says national game should be changed.because in our country cricket is not just a game it is a passion,glamer,money and everything for cricket players.last couple of months when india was won 20-20 world cup in india everywhere celebrated.that time for people was not interested in indias no.1murder mystry .everyone were watch cricket.
if you all think that only on the basis of familiarity and money we should change our national game tag.................
then it is not fair b,cause if some day any another game(say football) will lead cricket on the basis of familiarity the new question wii be

The recent debacle in Hockey and the rising popularity of cricket has made few crazy people to suggest the above but that’s just a ridiculous suggestion, nothing more.
As SRK said Yesterday, instead of playing the blame game, let’s really think why this happened and take some steps so that in future we don’t have to face such a humiliation again.
Its easy to blame to the governing body for all sort of mishaps but I don’t think its completely their fault but they are to blamed up to some extant. First let’s admit the reality that Indian Hockey team is never in top 3 teams in last 40 years. .1980 Gold medal was just a fluke nothing else. .For last 4 decades the performance of hockey team was unidirectional and now it has reached the lowest position. There are many interrelated issues but the hockey federation has never done anything in grass root level for the development of hockey. Just by starting a high paying league (PHL) the federation was thinking to attract youngsters to play the game (I am not against PHL but the federation should have done many other things with it)
Coming back to the question: National game should be changed to CRICKET ??
No way man. .There is no reason to change it to cricket. .may be a suggestion like KABADI would have been more worthy.
