How days are going on folks? The D-DAY is not far away from us.Every true CATPAGOL is aiming for it.SIMCATs,AIMCATs has been started to introspect our flaws.Air is too hot.CAT pandits have started their prediction for CAT 2008.So I personaly feel this is peak time to utilize this thread keeping in view IIMs.
What do you fill about the calls from IIMs,MDI,SPJMIR?What portion is your weak point & what is strong?Hw you are working on your weak point to make it strong? If you wrote the previous CAT exam but did not manage to get a calls or have not converted the calls then plz discuss how much you have guts to take the revange of the past year.
From which institute you are taking mocks.Plz come up with all kinds of discussion related with CAT@08 so that we can tally us w.r.t. others.
One last thing that I believe:
CAT is not end of the world
But its the beginning of a new world.
All the best for CAT 2008 Aspirants.

I think those students who are taking SIMCAT and those taking AIMCAT should attach their respective test papers .So that all get benefited and even both group benefited by each other. If its not unauthentical.

The D-DAY is not far away from us
dara kahe raha hai. . . we still have plenty of time. .more than 180 days and believe it or not, few are just starting the CAT preparation and 'll still make it into IIM . .
SIMCAT and AIMCATs have started but its just a business not for the benefit of students. . ask any faculty who really understand what is CAT, you ‘ll get the answer. .few years back TIME started all India 20 Mocks concept during this time of the year. .and it was a good success, CL followed it and now IMS doing it the same. .
I don’t think it’s the right time to think so much about mocks and FLTs. . you should start the mocks in mid-aug . .
Anyhow I ‘ll be joining IMS and ‘ll also appear few mocks of both TIME and CL.
I also somehw feel ur idea...
Wdin 90 days also u can crack IIM calls...Nd Mocks are not opted for building ur area strong but it helps to identify your weak areas...
Everything is OK!!!...Dr r also some guyz who are wdout any preparation can fetch BLACKI calls but its not true for everyone....
Ds forum was crated keeping in view all d members of CAT4MBA...Not some exceptions...
Giv ur best to d world.
Nd d best will cm back to u.....

even I will write cat 2008, last time i wrote cat was in the year 2006...I started my preparation from March 08 but still feel that I should have started last year...Actually I am not that strong in Quant and so I have to keep practising a lot... I purchased few books which teaches the funda's in depth....but I am working and hardly get time.....I finished the chapter number system and practised number of problems.....Cat gives more or Number system and Geometry as per the survey....In that case should I make these chapters perfect so that I don miss out any q's from these....
I don't have confidence for this year, but still want to ask you guys how I should Prepare for Quant ....I am not expecting a call from IIM's but yes MDI or TAPMI or SP jain is my target...
Please frens help me with the preparation and also do tell me how much is the cut off for the above college...
Should I take the Mocks from next month..although I am not that prepared to take it but still need ur suggestion before paying for it....

Bfore starting my post one thing I want to request u dont give up hope nytime, still you can manage the IIM calls...
Now cut-off though varies
But O.A.92-94 marks is necessary to cross the cut-off(Just 10 marks less to fetch IIM calls)...
So far as Quant section is concerned I think just practising from N.S. or Geometry will not help you much....Paper setters keep various level of difficulty type qs from each section....
(i)Quickshot
(ii)Challenger
(iii)Speed breaker...
If you just practise from ds two sections then in xam hall u wud be desperate to attend all qs from ds two regions nd one speed breaker qs can vitiate ur all game plan in CAT....
So according to me watch previous papers(at least 3)...Find out hw much qs(in %) came from whch area...
Formulate ur time according to the weightage...Suppose if 20% qs came from N.S. & u have 120 days in ur hand then u shud devote 24 days for N.S.....Hope u got my point.....
One quote I always remember of a IIM fellow
"Keep ur dreams alive,Go & Die for it.."
All d best for CAT@2008

Or better check the following link @
http://www.cat4mba.com/cat2007/CAT-Trend-Analysis
C mon this is not the right time to think about any institute. . don’t preoccupy ur self with any b school brand . .neither think abt any IIM alternate. . just focus and keep all your effort for Maths/DI/English. .forget about the rest of the world . . once CAT is over you ‘ll get enough time to organize the future course of action
Thanks dipanjan...Yeah u r right, i shud not lose hope...so i need to check out few CAT papers and then prepare accordingly...1. Before that I wanted to know when should I start taking the Mock test from TIME...I have given SIMCATS earlier and this year wanted to try for the TIME tests as I heard that its good...Although I am not that aware of all these... Please advise...
2. Is it necessary to try for all institutes mock test or one institute tests is enough....There are many people who say that I am registered for 3 institutes and will give all mock papers....Kindly advice.
Wish you too " All the best for CAT 2008"

First of all though im a student,dn also want to write CAT xam wdout taking any help from any coaching institute to check my potential,as i quite often hrd dt wdout taking help 4m coaching institute its hard to open the knot of CAT.So, its a challenge to me...
We all CAT4MBA members are here to share our difficulties and to fetch a good result in d coming CAT.Dt obviously will be great achievement of us.
Anyway, regarding mocks:
I think too much full mock tests wont help u.Because, smtimes it may push urself into frustration.Because,Mocks cannot build strong areas, it may just help u to find weak areas. Its obvious that u have to give urself ample time to grill ur weak areas. So,according to me:
Arround of 15-20 all india FLTs
6-8 sectional tests are sufficient
But dont forget to solve few previous CAT papers. Its well known dt CAT paper setters are one step ahead than any coaching institute.
One thing i want to utter once again, dont hestitate just put ur any queries(dt may be ridiculous also). You wud definately get solns.
Giv ur best to d world.
Nd d best will cm back to u....
