Geometry Doubts
Please solve the following questions
Q1. The side of an equilateral triangle is 10cm long. By equidistant parallels to its side, the triangle is divided into smaller equilateral triangles, each of which has sides of length 1 cm. How many such triangles are formed?
a. 60
b. 90
c. 120
d. None of these
Q2. A rhombus is cut to form two congruent triangles without any wastage. The perimeter of each of the triangles so formed is 32. If the same rhombus is cut to form four congruent triangles without any wastage, then the perimeter of each of the triangles so formed is 24. Find the perimeter of the rhombus.
a. 40
b. 32
c. 24
d. 48

the answer should be 100.
hence the option is ( none of these ).
correct me if i am wrong.

You are right, the answer is 100, but explanation is missing, it is clear that the area of all small triangle will be equal to the area of bigger triangle, then we should get the area of bigger triangle divided area of small triangle. How to get the area, Area of a triangle is given as half of height multiplied by width, the width can be any side, but hight have to be derived from the formulae square root of side square - square of half of side

Q2
ans (a) 40
let the side of the rhombus be 'x' and the length of the diagonals be 'y' and 'z'.
According to the qiven qustn the following three equations wud form
2x + y =32
x + y/2 +z/2 = 24 and
y2 + z2 = 4 x 2
solving above equations we get
x = 10
so the perimeter of rhombus is '40'
