hi... for any such quest try to convert the work into man-days( in 1st quest)
eg..20 workers in 30 days i.6 600 man-days; in other words, 600 workers will do it in 1 day or 1 worker will do it in 600 days. now here let 20 workers works for x days and 15 workers for y days, still the amount of work to be done is 600 man days, so
20x+15y=600
and x+y=35 ( because u now want to finish work in 35 days)
solving these 2 equns will give ans 15 days.
For questions no2 kind of questions where u get lot of fractions, assume the work to any suitable units for eg making of boxes. now again u need the eff of 3 people which should be multiple of 3,2 and 1.so lets assume work is to make 6 boxes, so manoj will make 1 box, ajay 2 boxes and vijay 3 boxes in a day to finish the work. so if manoj alone works then wil take 6 days to do the same work i.e making 6 boxes..
here note that even if u assume the amount of work to be making 12 boxes or 60 boxes or anything which is divisible by both 2 & 3 u will get same ans.
hope this wil help u solve other questions too.. all the best
