Doubts plz solve

Please solve the following questions

7.In a four-digit number , the sum of the first 2 digits is equal to that of the last 2 digits. The sum of the first and last digits is equal to the third digit. Finally, the sum of the second and fourth digits is twice the sum of the other2 digits. What is the third digit of the number?

  • a. 5
  • b. 8
  • c. 1
  • d. 4
  • e.Not Attempted

12. In some code letters a, b, c, d and e represent numbers 2 , 4, 5 , 6 and 10. We just do not know which letter represents which number, consider the following relationships:
I. a + c= e
II. b - d = d
and III. e + a = b.
Which of the following is true?

  • a.b=4 , d =2
  • b. a=4 , e=6
  • c. b=6 , e=2
  • d. 1=4 , c=6
  • e.Not Attempted

15.The number of digits in the smallest number considering of only ones and zeros and divisible by 225 is

  • a. 4
  • b. 10
  • c. 11
  • d. 9
  • e. Not Attempted

23. At his usual rowing rate , Rahul can tarevel 12 miles downstream in a certain river in 6hr less than it takes him to travel the same distance upstaream. But if he colud his usual rowing rate for this 24 miles round trip, the downstreams 12 miles would then take only 1 hr less than the upstream 12 miles. What is the speed of the current in miles per hour ?

  • a. 7/3
  • b. 4/3
  • c. 5/3
  • d. 8/3

Soln.  take d no. as abcd.

        Accordin to d qs:
                               a+b=c+d...(i),
                               a+d=c......(ii),
                               b+d=2(a+c)...(iii).

Nw put d value of c [frm (ii) to (i)] Hence we get b=2d...(iv)
       So (b,d)=(2,1) or (4,2) or (6,3) or (8,4)

Frm (iii) we can write 3d=2a+2d [As b=2d nd a+d=c] =>d=4a...(v)
       So (a,d)=(1,4),(2,8)

So we can conclude (a,b,c,d)=(1,8,5,4).....[put d values of a &d to get c]

OPTION (a) is CORRECT.

Giv ur best to d world.
Nd d best will cm back to u....

  • c. b=6 , e=2
  • d. 1=4 , c=6

Soln. Just take a look a+c=e and d no.s it implies (a,c,e) is either (2,4,6) or (4,2,6)...(I)
Dn move on to d next option it depicts (b,d) is obviously (10,5) [as 10-5=5]
As e+a=b so we can say e=6 nd a=4.

Takin as a whole we can say

     (a,b,c,d,e)=(4,10,2,5,6)

SO OPTION (b) is correct.

Give your best to the world.
And the best will come back to you.

15.The number of digits in

15.The number of digits in the smallest number considering of only ones and zeros and divisible by 225 is

  • a. 4
  • b. 10
  • c. 11
  • d. 9

Soln. As 25=5^2 x 9

So no. of 1's Wdn dt no. shud be 2 for bein divisible by 5.For ds we get 2 ones & 2 zeros. As d no. is also divisible by 9 so more 7 ones r required.

Takn as a whole 9 ones nd 2 zeros shud be wdn dt no. Total digits are (9+2)=11.

So option (C) is correct.

Giv ur best to d world.
