In a certain vessel water to wine ratio is 2 : 1. In another vessel water to wine ratio is 7 : 1. They are mixed in a ratio 9 : 10 to form 100 liters of new mixture. Now from the mixture, 20 liters are taken out and 10 liters of wine added to it. Then 9 liters of mixture is taken out and 5 liters of wine is added to it. Now what is the percentage of wine in the mixture? |

the answer should be 92.2061% . the answer will not be less than 50% because in that question he add 10 liters and later 5 liters of wine . and also after mixing of 2:1 solution with 7:1 solution the new solution formed contains 9:2 ratio wine and water .
the answer is 64.9%
the answer is 27.26%
the solution : let's assume in the 1st vessel contains 40 ltrs of water and 20 ltrs of wine and in the 2nd vessel contains 70 ltrs of water and 10 ltrs of wine .
take 47.36 ltrs solution from 1st vessel and 52.63 ltrs from 2nd vessel which are in the ratio 9:10 . which on mixing gives 100 ltrs of solution .
in this 100 ltrs of solution the ratio of water to wine is 9:2 bcoz (7+2):(1+1) now he took 20 ltrs out so remaining will be 80ltrs
9( x water) +2( x wine) = 80 ltrs
9(80/11) +2(80/11) =80 ltrs
on adding 10 ltrs of wine
65.4545 +{ 14.54+ 10) = 90 ltrs now
65.4545( x water) + 24.54( x wine) =81 ltrs
x=81/90;
again to this 5 ltrs of wine is added so
65.4545(86/90) + { 24.54(86/90) + 5 } = 86ltrs
water wine
62.5454+23.4493 = 86 ltrs of solution
water wine
so the % of wine = {23.4493/86}*100;
= 27.26
