such symbol frequently appearing in some question of flt so can anyone plz tell me what this mean

for example this is question from flt 14 :

1. The sequence of numbers t1 , t2 , t3 , t4 ... is defined by t1 = 2 , tn+1 = (tn – 1)/ (tn + 1 ) , for every positive integer n. what is the value of t999 ?

a. -3 b. 2 c. -1/2 d. 1/3 e.Not Attempted

I think we already had a discussion about it. There is problem in the programming language used and the way browsers interpret it. Hopefully it ‘ll be rectified very soon.
