A 2 yr full time course designed to inculcate the right attitude, develop the appropriate skills and impart comprehensive and rigorous knowledge to the students to develop in effective managers.The first year foundation courses ensures a thorough grounding in fundamentals such as operations, finance, economics and marketing as well as building communications, computer and quantitative skills.
The second year (fourth and fifth trimesters) consists of over 400 classroom sessions geared towards an in-depth understanding of the following fields of specialisation:
Finance Management
Marketing Management
Information Management
Manufacturing & Operations Management

Eligibility
At least a three-year (10+2+3) University Degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Selection process
The selection criteria for calling candidates for interviews is based on multiple factors like:
Past academic performance.
Work experience, IF ANY, in terms of job content and relevance to the specialization opted
Extra curricular activities, other interests
Accomplishments
Test score - CAT or XAT
ALL the above factors along with the performance in the interviews are used to determine the eligibility of candidates for offering final admission.

Test score in CAT or XAT is NOT the only criterion used by SPJIMR for admission eligibility and there is no cutoff score criteria. A high CAT score does not guarantee a short-listing for a candidate for an interview. It is quite possible that a candidate, despite having scored very high in his/her CAT exams may not be called for interview if he/she does not come up to the mark in other criteria.

Family Managed Business Programme (FMB)

SPJIMR pioneered the Family Managed Business Programme for young family business managers which is now in its 8th Year.
The Family Managed Business (FMB) programme has a custom designed architecture reflecting the central theme of preparing the participant for leadership of his/her family business. The architecture adopted focuses on the objectives and pedagogy for fulfilling the theme.The duration of the FMB Programme is 2 years including the foreign visit. The participants spend one week each month at the Center in learning and the remaining three weeks at their work place, applying the acquired concepts and skills in their business. They also work on specific assignments, reporting to the faculty through e-mail.

Eligibility
The FMB Programme is open to graduate family members with a significant stake in the family business. Sponsorship by the business is essential. Selection is through assessment of the application followed by a test and personal interview.

Information and Application Forms are available at the Center, which is located within the SPJIMR Campus. Forms can also be downloaded from the Institute's web-site. Only one programme is offered annually starting in September.

Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT)

The Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology aims at preparing IT professionals. This program is equivalent to Masters Program in Information Technology. It is a rigorous full time program with a focus on Business and Web Applications, Design and Development, while encompassing all aspects germane to the rapidly growing area of Information Technology.

Eligibility
Engineers ( B.E., B.Tech) / Graduates ( B.Sc., B.Com. - having Diploma in IT ) from reputed institutions
Must have scored more than 60 % marks aggregate
Atleast 1 year of experience in software developments / IT operations.

Any graduate with more than 3 years of functional experience (Sales, Finance, Plant Operations, etc.) with Diploma in IT and good academic record .

Admission Process
Entrance Test : Comprise of three papers, i.e General Aptitutde, Computer Concepts & Computer Programming in C
Interview and Group Discussion.

Admission will be granted on merit and strict compliance of rules and schedules.

Doctoral Programme (Ph.D)

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) is an all India Institute for higher education and is deemed to be a university. The Institute attaches great importance to University Industry linkages and gives a thrust to it through Practice School, Technology Innovation Center, Off-campus Distance Learning and Collaborative programmes, and the Ph.D. Aspirants schemes. Under the Ph.D. Aspirants scheme, BITS offers a unique opportunity for experienced personnel and professionals employed in various fields to work towards the Ph.D. degree in the settings of their respective work environments.

This is a high quality programmme spanning over a period of 4 years. The first 2 years are spent in complete intensive course work followed by 2 years of dissertition.

Eligibility
A candidate holding a higher degree of the Institute or its equivalent. namely, M.E. / M.Phil. / M.S. / M.Pharm.
A candidate of high standing and proven competence not holding a degree equivalent to a higher degree of BITS, provided he can submit technical and professional documents giving evidence indicating that he has acquired knowledge equivalent to one of the higher degrees of the Institute, and acceptance of the same by the Institute.
Candidates holding only a first degree namely, B.E. / M.Sc.(Tech.) / B.Pharm. / M.Sc. / M.A. / B.S. etc., provided an institutional arrangement to conduct courses of one of the higher degrees of the Instite under Off-Campus Distance Learning and Collaborative programmes of the Institute is first worked out between BITS and the candidate's organization. Such candidates when admitted will first complete the course work of a higher degree.

All candidates have to pass the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination.

Work experience of 5 years after graduation. Those with experience of more than 3 years and less than 5 years may be considered on a case to case basis.For the batch starting January 2006, candidates can indicate their CAT 2004 or GMAT score. An SPJIMR test will be conducted for those who have not taken any of the two tests.

For the batch starting January 2007, candidates can take either CAT to be held in November 2005 or XAT to be held in January 2006.

Selection will be largely determined by Potential for lateral shift, clear career plans, sound purpose of taking up this rogram and ability to map the relationship between these by the prospective candidate and
SPJIMR’s assessment of the above.

Fees Structure
