1yr MBA

Hi Incog,

Good 1yr MBA prog are offered by IIM Joka(check other iims - i think they too have this option), ISB hyd, XLRI(not sure) - all executive MBA program -1yr full time. They have campus placements. These are probably recognisedby aICTE. i think u can go for higher studies after that. Companies do give importance but full time MBA is always preffered (except for ISB) You need at least 5yrs work ex(generally) for these courses.

Now iims and XLRI offer a few 1 yr courses where its part time- through NIIT/Hughes centres accross india. there is no palcement for them. reg approval Nothing is mentioned regarding these courses. these are more of certification programmes. Work ex around 2 yrs (may be even less) is needed. Not much recognised.

Please check courses for XLRI website  - they are coming up with new courses.

Bottom line my friend is you cannot have all the cake and eat it too.

Ciao, Subhashis

1yr MBA

No 1yr MBA is recognised by AICTE , According to the latest directive by AICTE all 1 yr Programs are certificate programs.

Having said that , who cares of AICTE anyway. ISB / SPJ/ IIM A ,B,C,L / XLRI all are running 1 yr MBAs and industry is accepting these highly trained managers.

Infact worldwide there is a wave of converting 2 yr programs into 1 yr programs. Richard Ivey - Canada recently abolished its 2 yrs program to adopt a 1 yr pattern
