quant problem

hi!

solve this one....

ques1) (x+1)(x-2)(x+3)(x-4) ............ (x-100) = a0 + a1x + a2x^2 + ......

find the value of a1 ???

a1 = sum of the terms

a1 = sum of the terms associated with x

= 99 + (-2) 99 + 3 x 99 + . . . . .

= 99 [ 1 - 2  + 3 - 4 + . . . . . + 99 - 100]

= 99 x (-50)

= -4950

re: quant problem

Hey!

Thanks for replying. but i m not able to understand. could u further elaborate ur answer.

thanks...

just think

co-efficient of x  is sum of product of 99 terms taken at a time

so...a1=100!(1-1/2+1/3-1/4+.....-1/100)=100!log2 base e

can ny 1 confirm the answr plz
