Ans) length = 16, width = 10
3. 199 + 299 + 399 +...............+ 9899 + 9999 - what is the last digit of this series?
ans ...0

tell me if m wrong newhere???
I am also getting the same results for the last two questions.
About the first one i would simlpy leave if ever such questions are asked in real CAT.
Find the last digit is ok(divided by 10) but dividing 1000 makes no sense.
The only approach that is coming to my mind
3456/1000 = 9228 /1000 = (10 - 1)228 /1000
and now use the binomial expansion
What is the reminder (3)^456/1000.
it can be easily solved by (3^152/10)^3
solving individually we get 1 as the remainder ......
Hey, u have given a wrong solution to question 1. The correct method is shown by Anita....the answer can be obtained pretty easily as 721.
Using the calci I got the answer as 521
So Guys keepn on trying and wasting your time
Dj's
