Q1. At a certain instance, the minute hand of a clock is 90 degree behind the hour hand, when considered in the clockwise direction. After how much will does the minute hand be 180 degree ahead of the hour hand for the first time?
a. 164/11 minutes
b. 238/11 minutes
c. 491/11 minutes
d. 324/11 minutes

Q2. If S = 1.2/5 + 3.4/52 + 5.6/53 + 7.8/54 . . . .what is the value of S?
a. 8/5                  b. 12/5                c. 5/4                     d. 9/5

Q3. The roots of the quadratic equation x2 + bx + c = 0 are k more than the roots of the quadratic equation S =0 and the roots of the quadratic equation x2 + qx + r =0 are k less than the roots of S =0. which of the following is true?
a. c-r = k(b+q)
b. r-c=k(b+q)
c. c-r= 2k(b+q)
d. c-r=2(b+q)

ans 3

let l and m are roots of x^2 +bx +c=0

l-2k, m-2k are the roots of x^2 +qx +r= 0

c=lm

r=lm+4k^2 -2k(l+m) =c -k(l+m -4k +l+m)

=c -k(-q-b)

thus,r-c=k(b+q)

hence,(b) is the correct option

ans for 2nd qus

s=1.2/5 + 2.4/5^2 + 3.6/5^3 + ...... (1)               find s

so s/5=1.2/5^2 + 2.4/5^3 + 3.6/5^4 + ....(2)

now (1)-(2)

so s-s/5 = 1.2/5 + 1/2/5^2 +1.2/5^3 + ......

4s/5=1.2(1/5 + 1/5^2 + 1/5^3 + ....)

4s/5=1.2((1/5)/(4/5)

s=3/8
