Q1. A chord of length 16 cm is at a distance 6 cm from the center of the circle. Find the length of the chord of the same circle, which is at a distance 8 cm from the center. Q2. In the rectangle ABCD, AC + AB = 5 AD and AC – AD = 8 then the area of the rectangle ABCD is Q3. A wooden frame is in the shape of a regular hexagon. A nail is driven into each vertex. Other nails are driven at equal intervals around the frame. If each side has 21 nails, how many are used? Q4.AB and CD are two arcs of the circle with centre O. AC is joined and extended to meet the line, which is an extension of BD at P. The value of ∠ CPD Q5. What is the total surface area of a cylinder with radius r and height h? Q6. How many different chords are determined by n distinct points lying on a circle? Q7. The sides of a triangle are 10, 10, and 12. Find the radius of the circumscribed circle. Q8. If the height of a cylinder is decreased by 10% and the radius of the cylinder is increased by 10%, then the volume of the cylinder Q9. A metal pipe has an external diameter of 4 cm, an internal diameter of 3 cm and is 20 cm long. The volume of the metal used in pipe is Q10. The difference in the level of banks of a stream 15 feet wide is 8 feet. Find the length of the shortest plank which can bridge the stream ? Q11. What is the greatest number of points of intersection that can occur when 2 different circles and 2 different straight lines are drawn on the same piece of paper? Q12. If the diagonal and the area of a rectangle are 25 m and 168 m2, what is the length of the rectangle? END |

Let the length = a, bredth = b
Then diagonal = a2 + b2 = 625 and area = ab = 168
(a + b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab = 625 + 2 x 168 = 961
=> a + b = 31 ----------(i)
(a - b)2 = a2 + b2 - 2ab = 625 - 2 x 168 = 289
=> a - b = 17 ------------(ii)
adding eq(i) and eq(ii)
2a = 48 => a = 24
and b = 7

answer to ques 3:
in all there are five side in pentagon so 21*5 i.e 105 nails would be used
if u are thinking this u are partialy right we have counted the nail in the vertex two
times so they must be deducted.
so ans: 21*5 - 6 = 99 nails.
